Personal data protection (LFPDPPP)

If you collect client or employee data you need a privacy notice and internal procedures that actually work.

If you collect data, you already have obligations

Any business holding personal data of clients, employees or candidates is subject to the Mexican data protection framework. There is no threshold of size. A newsletter list, a contact form, a CV inbox and a CRM all count.

The obligations begin with a privacy notice that is genuinely informative and that is given at the point the data is collected, not buried in a footer afterwards.

Beyond the notice

Publishing a notice is the visible part. The part that matters when there is a complaint is whether the internal reality matches what the notice says: who has access, how long data is retained, what happens when someone asks for their data to be deleted, who the processors are and what they are allowed to do with it.

Holders have rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition, and requests have to be answered within set periods through a channel the company has actually set up. Most complaints start with a request that nobody knew how to handle.

What we do

We draft the privacy notices in their full, short and simplified forms, set up the rights request procedure, review the contracts with processors, define retention periods, and prepare the breach response. We also review what you have in place today and tell you which parts are decorative.

How we work on this

Who it is for

Foreign companies entering the Mexican market, Mexican businesses expanding abroad, and foreign law firms that need local counsel in Mexico.

Fees

Trademark work is quoted as a flat fee per mark and per class, with official IMPI fees included · plus 16% VAT. Other matters are quoted per file after an initial review, which is free.

Find out if your trademark can be registered

Four out of every ten marks that reach us cannot be registered as they stand. Send us the name and we come back with a straight answer on whether it has an obvious problem. No cost, no commitment. Need the full analysis, signed and in writing? That is the registrability opinion: USD 49 per mark and class plus 16% VAT, credited against your fees if you then file with us.

The free search is a preliminary, indicative review, not a registrability opinion: it is given without a likelihood-of-confusion analysis, without a signed document, and it creates no professional relationship. See the terms and conditions.
